Shiok

We'd actually gone to Shiok on a weekend to celebrate the New Year. Was actually planning to go there for quite some time now and finally made it.

Shiok sits above Planet M on CMH Road, Indiranagar and the closest landmark that anyone can point out is the Citibank ATM.

A must try would be the bartender's special - a Shiok Slammer, which actually stands up to its name and can slam you if you are a teetotaller!.

Another drink we had was the Mango Heat, which was a smooth combination of mango juice and a splash of alcohol (we forget which!) and a dash of chocolate syrup.

Ambiance :
Shiok sits on the 2nd floor and has a very serene ambiance which when combined with music and food makes it a pleasant experience.

Service :
When entering, we were greeted with a warm smile and shown to the table of our choice and the waiter took our order as well as explained what would better compliment the main course. The drinks were served in the flash of an eye and the food reached the table within 20 minutes of ordering.

Food :
Known for its Thai cuisine, Shiok really lives up to its word. One must try the drunken beef for starters, which is strips of beef cooked to tenderness in a thick sauce. This was followed by Nasi Goreng, Beef with Garlic, Soy and Mint and savoury broad noodles as the main course. To end it all, a nice slice of Blueberry Cheesecake.

Wallet Factor :
The wallet factor is a bit on the higher side. But is worth going, to celebrate a special occasion.

Overall :
We would recommend you guys try out Shiok for its classy cocktails and Thai food. But stay away if you are a budget freak!!.

Intro

Eating at Shiok Restaurant one day, we came up with this idea to write reviews of eating joints. We try and rate them on Ambiance, Service, Food and Wallet Factor. We try to be as unbiased as possible, but sometimes we have our differences and also the food outbalances our final decision!!.
